The Viscofan Group’s performance in the market can only be understood by taking into account the excellence of its employees. In 2011 it allocated over EUR 137 million to staff costs, i.e. 20.6% of the income it generated in the year.

A MULTICULTURAL GROUP

Its workforce is spread widely over various countries in which the company has a strategic presence: Germany, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Spain, the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Russia, Serbia and Thailand, which represents a rich and complex multicultural environment and also presents a challenge and an opportunity for international development for the Group’s employees in which numerous knowledge transfer projects are carried out among various production facilities and specific global training seminars are performed for employees in the Group.

TALENT DEVELOPMENT

Viscofan wishes to leverage the potential of this human capital and, to this end, the corporate Human Resources department is promoting projects to define and monitor the key competencies for the Viscofan Group and to unite efforts and coordinate the tasks required to attract, develop and retain talent within the various companies comprising the Group.

The challenges faced by the Viscofan Group include developing initiatives for employee professional and personal development and encouraging channels of communication which will enable it to leverage the talent of the Viscofan team.
